I thought when you bought a $2000 bike it was to suppose to work and not have to be rebuilt by the customer. I called again and they again denied a return and sent more parts for me to switch out. They sent a new controller for me to install which took some time and it did not remedy the issue. Called Rad and they would not authorize a return of a $2000 defective e bike. When assembly was completed the bike would power up for a split second. Assembled the bike just like I have my wife’s Rad and friends. Ordered the Rad Rover 6+ and it arrived in a somewhat timely manner. Based on my recent experience I would recommend Rad. I'm going on 60 and I've been around the block more than few times with similar issues. Cleaned the bike up so it looks like new. Fixed all the issues at no charge plus they threw in a free tune up. ![]() As a result of the kickstand my bike has multiple scratches, etc, etc. Took it in today and was told I have no brake pads and it's not safe to ride. Each time I was told it was safe to ride and it was not a problem. I brought it to store several times concerned. Also brakes have sounded strange for 6 weeks. 4th time I take it into store today and was told the person that assembled bike stripped the area the bike attaches to frame and used the wrong bolts. Bike falls over in my garage several times. I brought it in several times to the Berkeley store complaining it didn't work. Bike shop that put it together messed up and stripped the screws that hold kickstand to the frame. Too bad someone doesn't take control of this as it is apparently getting out of hand. I see these types of complaints are not isolated either. I don't know who owns Rad bikes but whom ever it is.is poorly represented by their customer service employees. Since they are still selling these same bikes, he insisted they take it out of one of the new bikes or refund/return his bike. Five days later.they send him an e-mail saying the motherboard is backordered. They determined from the video the motherboard was bad and they would send him another - for him to install. After calling customer service from our site and waiting on the phone for nearly 30 minutes, he was advised to take a video performing several functions and sending it in so they could assess it visually. On his 3rd time out, the throttle would not engage. On his second ride, there were no apparent problems. The incorrectly placed mechanism caused the chain to fall off when he tried to switch gears. The service center explained the issue as an incorrectly placed mechanism. He took it to a service center (recommended by Rad customer service) to have it put back on. Lemon Rad City 5 Plus purchased March, 2022. Then I have to do it all over again for another part to be replaced - on my time that is! All the time I've put into this bike and it's still broken and I'm not confident that when the battery comes, it will fix it. By taking the bus to work, it adds an extra hour everyday. The customer service is terrible and no one seems to have any urgency in resolving my broken bike - I was also told that I can't return it cause it's past the 14 day window for returns, even though it stop working in the 14 day period, I'm stressed out so frustrated. I was offered a $50 gift voucher - which is silly cause I don't plan on spending anymore with this company. I've had this bike for about 6 weeks and still not working. I asked customer service to inform and manager or supervisor to please contact me and nothing to this day. I have incurred daily travel expenses to and from work and taxi costs while my new broken bike sits in my living room as I get more and more frustrated. I'm waiting for a response - There's no guarantee the battery will fix the problem. When I did get a call back, I was told that I had to document a list of things to take pics and videos of and submit. Then no one from customer service called me back or returned my emails for about a week. The CSA tells me that I have to follow all the "policies" which are listed - Where 's the policy that says if we sell you a defective bike we will make every effort to make you a satisfied customer. When deliveries are sent out it took 12 days for the controller to come AND that was after I had to document things, submit to a drop box and then follow up myself. He sent a report to customer service and no one followed up with me. I had to call the bike mechanic to come and waited around 4 hours and he couldn't fix it. I contacted customer service and they sent out a new controller and I replaced it and still not working. I did the trouble shooting and still not working. I bought the Radrunner + It worked for about 9 days then it died - no power.
